Conrad Schoeffter
He came to America chasing a dream — and found one. Now Conrad is fighting to protect and grow everything that makes New Hampshire the freest, safest, best state in the Union.
Meet Conrad
Conrad Schoeffter grew up in Switzerland dreaming of America. His father dreamed of it first — of emigrating and building a business here — and made his first visit to New York City aboard the maiden voyage of the S.S. Normandie.
Conrad arrived in the United States in 1977, wide-eyed like so many immigrants, naïvely expecting downtown Los Angeles to look like the South of France. It was the generosity of America that allowed him to find himself and blossom.
A bachelor's and master's from USC film school led to a career working out of Los Angeles for the European film and television industry. Screenwriting taught Conrad to place himself in others' shoes — to understand and respect all viewpoints, not just his own.
In his 50s, Conrad was offered the chance to run a company that grew seafood. He became HACCP certified and earned a graduate degree in pearls from the American Institute of Gemology. From working with animals, he learned that treating every being with kindness produces better results.
Now retired, Conrad serves as founder and chair of the Plainfield–Cornish Republican Town Committee, a member of the Sullivan County Republican Caucus, NH GOP vice chair for Sullivan and Cheshire counties, chair of the NH GOP ad hoc committee for immigrant outreach, and trustee of Log Cabin Republicans. He loves reading, baroque music, and above all, life in the most beautiful state in the Union.
Nurture What We've Built
New Hampshire is envied nationwide. Let's grow what we've built — not tear it down for the sake of opposition.
Affordability Starts With No New Taxes
The Granite State's advantage is its low tax burden. Conrad will protect it — because keeping more of what you earn is the foundation of affordability for every family.
Cap Property Taxes Through Efficiency
To cap property taxes, we must increase the efficiency of our school system — delivering results for students and relief for taxpayers at the same time.
Rent-to-Own for Young Families
A rent-to-own program will make home ownership possible for young people — so the next generation can build their lives right here in New Hampshire.
Constituents Set the Agenda
For years, Conrad has been an active presence across Sullivan and Cheshire counties. He'll be just as present in Senate District 5 — hearing your concerns and finding solutions.
New Hampshire Is #1 — Let's Keep It That Way
Independent institutions rank New Hampshire at the very top, again and again. These are the results worth protecting.
